Information you provide directly:
- Email address and password when you create an account
- Basic profile information if you sign in with Google
- Your watchlist: titles, ratings, and viewing status you add to the app
- Your streaming service subscriptions and preferences
- Feedback and support messages you send us
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data such as pages visited and features used
- Browser type, operating system, and general device information
- IP address (used for security and fraud prevention)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)
Information from third parties:
- If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google
- Payment status (not card details) from Stripe after a subscription transaction

4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores your account and watchlist data securely.
- Stripe — our payment processor. Stripe handles your payment details directly and is PCI-DSS compliant. We only receive confirmation of payment status.
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — we send anonymized watchlist data to generate AI recommendations. We do not send your name or email.
- TMDB — when you search for titles, queries are sent to The Movie Database API to retrieve metadata.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose your data when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Stream-Wiser or others.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@stream-wiser.com. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected
- Deletion — request that your data be deleted ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from any marketing emails at any time

Stream-Wiser is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Affiliate Disclosure
Stream-Wiser may include affiliate links to streaming services. If you subscribe to a service through one of these links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This does not influence our recommendations, which are generated solely based on your watchlist and preferences.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
